I have an 05 E-Glide Classic and am thinking about installing a backrest. Is it a waste of money, how hard to install, is it worth it. I plan on some long trips so I figured maybe some road pegs and a back rest might make it more comfortable than it already is. I stand 6'4 so I need some leg room. I appreciate all comments.
Long trips, for sure you want that back rest. Now as far as when I ride with the wife on the back, she doesn't like it. But she doesn't go with me on the real long ones.
As comfortable as my Ultra is, I gotta use a backrest on long rides. If I'm going more than a hundred miles, I pop mine on. Without it, my lower back starts giving me fits in about an hour to two. It's the riding position that puts more stress on your lower back than you think.
Installation is a snap. All you gotta do is take off the seat and the back rest mounting plate bolts to some studs already there. Take you maybe 5 minutes depending on how quick you can get your seat off.
