Yes you do. What I did was got a Ipod Touch and use that for my music. It can still get emails, download music from ITunes etc if you are around a WiFi hotspot.

Sorry misread your post. No it doesn't control the Ipod but you can still use its functions like normal.

Is it mounted in foam or anything ?? If not,.....seems like a lot of vibration would be there.

Yes its mounted in form. They send you two form pads with the dash. And it does give you a tight fit so no movement at all. And by the way I took your advice on the front speakers. Better sound.
