Hey all.....has anyone here seen or installed those front fender lowering kits on their bagger? I am going to go this route rather than the 21 inch front tire. What's your opinion on those kits? It looks like it really slams it down taking into account it's a solution that doesn't require any metal chopping on your tin.
thanks in advance
I have it on my Road King Custom. No problems. Got it from Native Custom Cycles. I lowered the front end and had heard that sometimes the front suspension could slam down on the fender and dent it. Never had that problem myself. The lowered fender re-establishes the factory distance from the bottom of the trees to the fender. One tip: when you install the brackets on the fender be sure to seal the joint where the brackets join the fender to prevent water intrusion and rust behind the brackets.
Fast Eddie....
Looks good on the Road King. You said you lowered the front end as well? I am wondering if I only do the fender slam, but not lower the front end that reestablished distance between the trees and the fender top may look awkward? Any thoughts? thanks again.........
A more deailed view. I didn't think it looked awkward this way. I just liked the look of lowering it. Also, if you notice the rivets are shaved off the lowered fender. That gives it a cleaner more custom look
Couldn't help myself. Here are the two side by side for easier comparison. You can see how the lowered fender hugs the tire more and the shaving of the rivets cleans up the fender.
