Hi new member here I have a 06 ultra and like everyone else my legs get fried at stops in the summer. Any reason I cant wrap my pipes with fibertape at the top then put my shields on over the tape? They say you 70 percent of the heat goes out the back with the tape on.
I would recommend one of our Crotch coolers as they work very well,easy to install,and they can be customized a number of way,s. We have a lot of very happy customer,s here on the forum..You will not have to go through all the trouble of wrapping your pipes to end your heat problems..Just do a search under crotch cooler..Thank you Larry

Taping will definitly insulate your legs from the heat. If you wrap em, make sure after you wash your bike, the wrap is fully dry prior to placing the bike away for the evening. If you don't your pipes may rust through.
