I have the heated jacket and gloves. The suggested fuse for this two items is a 10 amp fuse. My question is; if I add a setup for my wife ( Jacket and gloves) with a separate connection to the battery for her gear, can the electrical system handle both her and my heated gear? Anyone out there have a setup for their passengers and if so, how have you set up the configuration.
The system can handle gloves, jacket liner, pants, and boot warmers. Should be about the same draw as 2 pairs of gloves and 2 liners. Also you probably will never run full power to the garments cause it gets too hot. I think you should be okay.

Terra,
I have three plugs coming off my battery's terminals on my road king. One is for the battery tender and the other two are for the my heated clothes and my wife's heated clothes. We each have a jacket liner and gloves. Have used them many times with no problems. I have the plugs for the heated equipment routed to run up through the hole in the middle of the seat for the backrest.
I went to the Gerbings web site. They have a chart that shows how many amps will be needed to run heated gear. The chart shows both rider and passenger. Based on what I have read, the maximum output on my 09 UC is around 650 watts.
