How many miles do you tend to ride in a day while on long trips. My wife will be with me and most miles on this particular trip will be interstate. I guess what I'm asking is, what is a reasonable number of miles to ride per day without getting into Iron Butt territory?
For my multi-day, long distance touring, I usually target for 300 miles per day. If I am just wanting to cover distance on mostly interstate, that number goes up to 500 miles per day, anything over that is gravy. This is touring with my GF and she rides her Deluxe. I am on a StreetGlide and am 62. No Iron Butt rider.

Somewhere between 500-600. Get off the bike every 100 miles for a few minutes. Leaves you plenty of time at the end of the day to find a place to stay, and relax.
If my GF is on the back, she's done @ 300 miles a day (pushed her to almost 500 once, it wasn't a pleasent evening at the end of the day). Me & the guys usually 5-600.
300 is a comfortable easy day, 500 if I really want to get some where. With a passenger I would think some where in the 300 mile area, only time will tell becasue some passengers can sit there all day with out a problem.
We do 100 miles before breakfast. stop, have a good meal, and try for another 300-350 miles. No matter what we try to stop around 4:00, get a nice room , have a drink, and walk to a nearby restaraunt.
Pretty much agree with all of the above post. 300 miles is a good day without pushing things with the wife aboard. I've done 600 miles in one day but it kind of beats you up a bit and in my case, not enjoyable. Don't see how the Iron Butt guys do 1000 a day for 11 days straight. So, 300 miles a day is easy and enjoyable for my people.
Depends entirely on how early you get started, if you get going by sun up, you can do a 600 mile day easier than you can if you start at 8am, it really makes a big difference.
Taking breaks about every 100-150 miles helps too, take a walk ,drink water.....what ever you want to do.
Fuel, and go will make you more tired , unless it is just because you are going to look for a restaurant for lunch, or something like that.
I pushed the wife to 540 miles in 10.5 hours, she wouldn't get on the bike the next day. She is good for 250 to 350 on average on a multiple day trip.
When I ride with guys I trust we can make good at about 350 to 400 miles a day.
Just remember its NOT the miles, ITS THE TIME ON THE BIKE that makes the difference in fatigue. Stop and stretch and look around thats why we are out riding to begin with.
