[color=#0033FF]Married...my ole lady complains about not enough room and she's only 130lbs. I have a backrest also on my '06 and have the tour back all the way back...still not enough room.....but my Goldwing seemed to fit her just right.....so if anyone has a Goldwing and wants my ole lady have at it! Cooks, cleans and does laundry! Free to a good home!

Talk about asking for trouble!!!!!

Thanks to those that responded to me regarding raising the floorboards. I'll give that a try.

For those that drilled holes in the tour pack, how did you fill in the original holes?

I found that the bigest problem with having the backrest on was that my wifes legs were pressed against it. The fix I came up with, was to have the backrest altered a bit.

I reshapped the bottom of the rest to make it more roomy for my wifes legs, and it elliminated the problem. As you can see from the picture, I cut a couple inches from the bottom edges of the backrest, and re-shaped it to better fit her legs. She no longer has any problems while riding with me.

And for what its worth...my wife is NOT a skinny mini....she has a little meat on her bones...but I don't like boney women, she she perfect for me.

Ask your wives...the problem is normally not the distance from the backrest to her seatback...the problem is usually in the thigh area, the backrest cuts into the legs..or she has to spread her legs out to be comfy.
here is a pic of the finished backrest...

That's a great fix. You must be pretty handy with the sewing machine.

Just a little info from someone who drilled a new hole and moved the trunk back, take it for what it is worth.
I moved the trunk back about 2 inces which lined up the front holes in the rear spot and redrilled the center rear hole. It worked great for about a year and then on a breakfast run a friend asked why my trunk was tilted. It seemed that to much pressure was to the rear and the trunk bracket cracked on both sides. The trunk was about to fall off which I am sure of since I just grabed the bar once the trunk was removed and it came right off. Seems the only thing still holding was the license plate bracket. Ordered the extended bracket from JP cycles and it has a chrome brace which mounts to the licence backet and distributes the wieght much better. Now the trunk is as solid as can be and grandma has all the room she needs. Only problem is now she is farther away and I don't get "grabbed" so often. If you just drill a new hole I suggest you keep checking it often.
