Default One piece riser clamp for pre 08 batwings

I am going to put on 10" PY Bagger apes. It says that the 1 piece riser clamps must be used. Yaffe has a clamp, but it's twice the cost as the stock HD part. and I have found may cheaper alternatives on eBay. Does anyone know if the Drag specialties cheap one listed on eBay will replace this 1 piece HD one. Do any other HD models use this same clamp? I'd like to know so I can possibly find a used one on eBay.

Thanks.

I think all of the touring bikes have them past a certain year, I know my RK had it when I swapped out the bars. No idea about Softails/Dynas though.

My 06 did not have the one piece clamp. That was done after 07, I believe. Go with the HD clamp. good quality and made for your bike. You don't need a fancy chrome one, it it will be out of sight under your dash.

I bought 1 for my 02 Road King, I think it was Drag Spec. It was only $12.95 locally and fit under my chrome cover. I am happy with it.

That's what I'm taking about. They list it to fit all big twins from79-present. I just want to make sure it will fit a touring bike.

Is this piece sufficient enough for strength?

I used the HD one-piece on my '04 EG--p/n 55918-08. I also replaced the riser bolts with the shorter headed version HD introduced to avoid contact with the bottom of the HK radio--p/n 12600003.

I used the HD one, new, no problem. My buddy found an used one somewhere else and no problem too. It's not where you have to spend lot of money, a used one will work

As far as the Drag Spec, I have only ridden about 500 miles with the new bars and 1 piece clamp. I have not had a problem yet.

I took the one piece HD clamp and drilled and tapped to holes in it. Then put a set screw on each side to lock down ontop of the bars. Bars are solid as a rock.

While doing in there I would also change out the riser bushings for the updated HD ones.
