$459 ? Seriously!! For a few dollars more why not go Ohlins
where did you find Ohlins for $462? My biggest issue with Ohlins (I have had two sets) is having to pay to have them rebuilt every 10-15,000 miles or so. Fresh Ohlins are very nice tho.
6'5 265 lbs, have the HD units. I only have 1 turn on preload. tride cranking them down and your right it tops out real bad. Maybe I should of got the standard springs? I figured with my weight id be ok with HD.
I had the Reg. 440s and was bottoming out when i took a passenger. Im 6'1" 240. I sent them out and had new chrome HD springs put in and im pleased. I back them all the way out when im alone and give it a full turn when i have passenger.

That is great to hear because I want to ride my bike off a cliff with the suspension that's on there now! Thanks!
If you're not happy with the way it rides on the street, I think you would be extremely unhappy with how it would ride going down the side of a mountain. I'd recommend a KTM 350 XCF-W for going down the side of the mountain. The price wouldn't be that much more than making your HD ride better.
I can't comment on the Progressives since I have no experience with them. Give me a couple of months and I'll let you know how Ohlins work since I'm about to pull the trigger on a set. Good luck with whatever you decide on.
