From what I've read, 2002 was the last year for the really stout/strong lower-ends in TC 88in motors. After that, HD compromised and builders began welding cranks and such to beef them up. I'm sure others will chime in but if it's in great shape and a great deal, I'd say go for it.
Best year they made the twin cams. 02 has the forged crank with Timken bearings and the first year for the Delphi injection system. Other than cam chain tensioners, had very few problems. PO may have already had tensioners changed, depending on mileage.
I bought my '02 Road Glide new; it will be the last bike I buy unless something bad happens to it, or I somehow get rich and can afford to start a herd. It was the first year of the Delphi FI and upgraded swingarm and also has the forged flywheels and better crank bearings.
Things to check with PO on would be cam tensioners and what cam bearings are in it.

Both my bro-n-law and I had (he sold his) 2002's...both were excellent bikes. How many miles does it have, do they have the service history available for review? If they haven't changed the cam chain tensioner ask if they could do this as part of the purchase agreement?
