I guess before I disconnect the PCV and connect the ECM directly I need to clear the codes. Do you know if I can clear them by pulling the main fuse or do I have to do it thru the gauge?
Cleared the codes and went for a ride and now here are the codes; no rSP, U1040.
Removed the PCV pulled the fuse, reset, installed fuse and took her for a ride. Same thing in one block, limited throttle mode w / engine light. Code reads the same no rSP, U1040. The codes I saw yesterday are not showing up since I cleared them 1510, 2127,2138 but might need a longer ride to display. I guess its all up to the dealer tomorrow. Hope its covered. Not this response PCV, engine work - Voided Warranty
You can tell the dealer when you take it there that you've already tried bypassing the PCV, that should help them out.
I think there are known issues of corrosion on the throttle body connector. They may replace the connector and pins, or it could be the twist grip sensor in the bars. Either way for those they aren't going to give you crap because of the PCV, you'll be okay.
I may have missed it, but did you try cleaning gently and using dialectic grease on the ECM connector? That has seemed to be the main weakness with throttle issues on the TBW bikes. Those pins get flaking or something like that and the cleaning with some grease is supposed to help the problem.
Thanks for the advise, thats the first thing I did was cleaned all the connections with CRC QD Electronic Cleaner. Didn't help. Anyone have any other recommendations. It's funny, the last two weeks I've been thinking of changing my grips, glad I didn't because the stealer would have blammed it on me. Not they they are not going too anyway!
Think I just found my problem. Going thru my manual I deceided to check the Twist Grip Sensor Jumper Harness. Found the harness pinched between my radio/amp mount and the large bolt used to mount the front end to the frame. So, whom ever is using this radio/amp mount purchased from one of the forum members be sure to check that your wires are clear under the mount before you tighten it all back up. I do not have the part number book DOES ANYONE THE PART NUMBER FOR THE TWIST GRIP SENSOR JUMPER that plugs in under the fairing for a 2010 Ultra? If so, it would be greatly appriciated so I can order a new wire. My wire was just smashed between the two and is flattened, formed it back into position and started it back up and no engine light.. Thank God!
You could just repair the smashed wire, with a small section of wire, soldered on both ends to the original wire and then heat shrinked, cheaper than a new harness.
