I'm a wheel guy (on my bike, my truck, cars, etc....) so I love my 21. I'd suggest to see if you could work a trade out.....maybe a paint job for someones nicer wheels? Don't know if you'd find the time, etc but might be worth thinking about.
Traveler WTF if it was your bike you could spend what ever you wanted. But it is not yours, not every body can afford a work of art. Some are just a work of art in progress. I can go to any bike show and pick a bike apart but I keep my **** to myself. Not everybody likes what I did to my Street Glide but I love it. I almost did the orange that you have but when someone said it would look like a rolling punkin I changed my mind and went with Merlot, thats my choice. I do like your bike but it is not for me. Keep up the good work Batman it turned out great.
I agree the wheels are shitty crappy, but it is what it is. They have some flakes, and some spokes that I cannot clean up. About 30 pages ago there was a deal on a set of nice wheels and the price was right. The added issue of the cushion drive, different axles or bearings, brake rotors, all made me decide to stay with the wheels I have for this riding season. There were/are other items that either did not function or were is worse condition than the wheels, like the exhaust system, blued, dented, scratched. So the choice was exhaust or wheels. Well exhaust won out because I was able to clean up the wheels to make them look acceptable. Now you have the exhaust, what happens next, think PCIII, and then well the air filter was shot and not useable, so pay the stealer for a new element or spend a few bucks more for a Big Sucker. At this point I want to get it on the road and see what other things show up before I worry about replacing things that still function properly and look acceptable to the average Joe. I'll be keeping an eye out as I always do for a steal of a deal, but I'm not putting a hold on cheapskate for a pair of wheels. Life rolls on. Thanks for all the input. Take the boxing gloves off. Its all good. End of debate.
Traveler your an fin *** dude, good thing its not your bike. Not everyone likes the mags in the first place. This is his build, his thread, and I think his bike spokes or not already looks better then yours. It's about pride man and you obviously don't know anything about that. Ok now my rant is over. Carry on...
I need a Jiffy Stand, I'm not sure if mine is bent or tweaked or was the year it was a bad design, but when I had it on the stand I had to put a 4x4 under the pad or the bike leaned over at almost a 45 degree angle. I know Harley lean quite a bit but this was excessive. So if you know anybody that has one let me know.
Here's your pictures for the night.
And I might run without badges, we don't need no stinkin badges.....
Batman I think the tank needs the HD script logo starting in silver on the green then ending in green on the silver. BTW.....a 21" front wheel would make that baby POP! But unlike Traveler I understand why your sticking with the spokes for now. Keep it up!
Travler never said batman had to do it, he just spoke his .02. batman do what's in ur budget. but wheels would look great! I love the build. but when you get a chance throw some shoes on it. traveler being a military guy has been polishing shoes since he started his career. you just need to find some you like batman.
I've got no beef with Traveler, he has been a supporter since the beginning and even donated the Awesome mirrors. My above post was just to stop the bickering between sides get us back on track.
