Just added floor board extensions
so both the wife and I were finding it harder to pick up the kickstand after this install
the wife is short legged, but I am not, and with the extensions on, the damn kickstand pick up was hiding under the floorboard
so this weekend we went by the local dealer and picked up two kickstand extensions to make it easy
wow did that make a nice difference.
simply drilled a small pilot hole in the jiffy stand part of the kickstand (i think that's what its called) then kept using larger drill bits until the bolt fit through.
looks nice on the SG
the wifes was a little more of a challenge, as the jiffy stand extenders for the softails are not extra long or that much more helpful.
Reading online in the forum, many have switched the FB kickstand over to a FB Low/Deluxe stand with the longer catch, that didn't help, as when we stopped by the dealer, the wife had no more luck with that.
so we bought her the longer touring jiffy stand extension and I grinded off the little barbs at the end with grab around the jiffy stand on the FL series.
drilled the same small pilot hole and kept swapping bits until the bolt went through, now she has what she needed on the stand to get it up with ease.
I will take a pic later today and show it off.

I just finished the Harleygoodies footboard extension install on my 2012 Street Glide with lower fairings. The installation went well and no problems with the lower fairings. Nice investment. The new position of the boards is more practical. It even looks better. I purchased the HD Jiffy Stand Extension based on what I've been reading on this forum and works perfectly. Looks good too. Waiting on my Brukus Kickstand Coaster Puck to finish off my scoot. Wish I could learn to post some pics here to share. Pics will follow. This is a great forum. Thanks.
Ordered for both my bike and the wife's fatboy like Thursday this week from harleygoodies and they already arrived today!
20-25 mins per bike, oh and a trip to home depot for a 3/8 socket driver in 3/8 in hex key to get my bolts out of the SG, and we were done
Haven't driven anywhere yet but have a rally we are doin tomorrow so I will feel the difference then
Thanks for the great service harleygoodies!

Is there anyone that has fitted extensions that extend the florboards forwards by 2 inches?
I'm 6,4" and my knees get sore after riding for extended periods because of the cramped angle of my legs...so I'm considering ditching the lowers and fitting extensions but I'm curious to see if it will make a worthwhile difference?
With the floorboards positioned outwards, how does that improve the comfort?

I have a 2012 RGU and I guess I have gone to the extreme. I started with the Harley extended floorboards which move the boards forward by 1". Then I put on the spacers that move the floorboards out 3/4". A few weeks ago I added the Tall Boys Cycles lowering kit which move the boards down about 2" and forward about 2" with the heel lower than the toe. Now I had to modify the lowers quite a bit. Used the template from Tall Boys to cut the lowers and realized that I had forgotten the extended floor boards I had on, so I had to cut even more out of the lowers. But now my floorboards are 3" forward and 2" lower. What a difference it makes. My knees are now lower than my hips and I hardly need to highway pegs.
So far I have only scraped once in a parking lot and we did. 1,000 mile weekend with lots of twisties. I need an extended brake pedal next!

I bought these for two bikes. Another thing I bought cause so many people on the forum said they were the bomb. Seemed like a great idea and the ride position is really comfortable, but not on this bike. That extra little distance out does make a difference if you really lean the bike over. I can scrape my floorboards now without even trying hard. Moving them out would be worse
