Anyone have any experience with the Mean City memory foam mod or double decker memory foam mod ? I bought a take off SG seat last summer to use when my tour pack is off around town, or for a few day trip. I can put quite a few miles on it comfortably, but it's not as plush as the FLHTK seat. The price seems right for some added comfort. The web site says the double decker is for over 225 lbs and I weigh in at 210, with some more winter left to go

My buddy and I rode to MCC for drive in appt, both SGs 06 and 07 so same seat, one done single layer, one done double decker, both lowered and shaved, I was right at 220 he was about 200, we both agreed the double decker felt better, if you run a backrest send them your pad too, awesome mod. It did take a while to break in fully, but it is probably more comfortable now than my sundowner. I Would recommend to anyone.
just got my seat back from them and veryhappy, looks good, feels plusher.stock seat had the mem foam for rider done only not the double layer one just the regular memory foam.
Did a lot of riding the last 2 days and big difference so far, side by side with another stock seat yep more plush, other riders use gel packs on long rides and they are cheaper somewhat but ive never tried or liked how tacky they are and inconvienient so this was great for what i wanted to do. came back lookin like i sent it but no dout comfy mod jackpot.
I didnt want to roll around town asking upholstry places to re-work my seat and take a chance ..ect and the look like your crazy and we never did that before..ect
total includeing click and ship both ways and hd disc was 125

Thanks I never thought about the back rest. I have the adjustible and was going to pick up another back rest to match the SG seat pattern, and cut a few inches off so it will sit lower.
I had the double decker mod done 2 years ago. Rode on it for about a month, just didn't like it. Seemed harder than the stock SG seat. Wife didn't like either, so the seat went to the attic, and I bought a custom one from C&C.
The seat the mod was done on is an '05 screamin' eagle electra glide. I guess I should put it up for sale, just collecting dust.
All that being said, I am N=1, and may very well be in the minority. I will say the service and price was very good, simply not what I was looking for that's all.
I had the double decker done a few years back. Took about 500 miles to break it in. It was a major improvement than my stock seat. I would do the mod again.
I've had mine for a couple of years and it's ok, its better then the stock seat but no where near as good as I had hoped. I went to an air hawk and between the two of them its all good. I only had the single pad put on, they offered to fix it but I didn't want to spend the money for shipping and such when I didn't think it would do much.
I have a 2011 RGC and when I bought it, the wifey complained about the seat after 30 min of riding. Sent the seat off to mean city for a $75 passenger seat mod and it was night and day. Now she doesn't start complaining until after 90 min of riding. So $75 bought me 1hr less bitching from the wifey.
