Congrads on your new bike. It's a good riding bike for sure. I agree with the guys here, loose the cat headers, you'll be glad you did. Where is grays creek? Im from NC but not sure where that is. Shoot us some pictures of that beast when you get time.
Grays Creek is a Township about 15 miles south of Fayetteville/Ft. Bragg.
I'm undecided on pipes. My 05 had Rhinehart TD's and with over 50K miles on them the packing on the baffles was long gone. For long trips it was a bit too loud.
I'm really thinking of going with a 2-1 header. I just need to make sure the sound will be bearable on a long haul.
An excellent choice! You have superior taste in motorcyles...
Yes we do .
I still can't believe how how much better it is than my 05. It feels so much lighter. I'm still having trouble "feeling" the speed. It hits 80 real quick and just doesn't feel like it is going that fast.
teedubya - where did you get and how much were the Chrome rails around your saddle bags and the driver's backrest?
All my accessories are HD. Your local dealer will happily order them. You can go right to HD.com to see a wide range of factory accessories. I don't recall the price without searching for it myself but it's available to see for yourself.

Bugbyter, I went SD for the Sturgis rally this year. Even after a whole day on the super slab at 75mph, the V&H monster ovals were not overwhelming or any place near deafening. If you can get a chance to hear them on the bikes in person you will be better able to judge for your self. I'm 56 years young and am not fond of the blat of some exhaust combos, I'm real pleased with the V&H set-up. To each their own.

Thats what I'm looking for. My worn out Rineharts were rough on a long trip.
I don't know whether the new style radio is that much better than the old or the stock pipes but I can actually hear the radio now.. .
