i have an 03' rkc. it's been upgraded to the stage II 95", and i was thinking of putting a kuryakyn pro R hypercharger. has anyone had any dealings with this, and does the power commander have to be re mapped. thanks
While they are "Neato" looking, I do not like them. Due to the fact that the air flow is always varying, it's more difficult to get and keep a good tune on it. If ya get it tuned on a dyno, you are not getting the "ram-air" effect you get running down the road, so..... what happens to the tune...???....
Do you already have an after market air cleaner? When I spoke with the crew at Power Commander, they said the MAP I have which is for a Screaming eagle air cleaner would work fine. I would imagine that it should run alright. However, When ever I have spoken to Power Commander they have been very helpfull and I am sure could answer your questions much better than I.

It is very well known that the "hyper-crapper" is one of the worst air cleaner setups on the market. In fact, most of the Kuryakyn air cleaners are poor at best. I asked last week about this when I was at the dyno, and they told me to avoid them.
I had one on my Shovel it did fine, but it was loud and the butterflies make a racket, looked cool as hell though End up putting my S&S cleaner back on it had the choke lever built into it.

Nothing is as plain and ugly as the S&S teardrop air cleaner though....and maybe the old 'standard' hyper is lackluster for performance, but the ProR that Mike Roland's team designed is supposed to be quite impressive.

I had one on my Night Train. It was fuel injected and the Hypercharger stuck out more than the stock cleaner did. This was uncomfortable and I had to reach inward for the rear brake.
