Unless there are rotators on the valve spring retainers, they will not turn. I don't think H-Ds have those, but I could be wrong. Also, if the valves and seats are ground at different angles you do not want rotating valves as it will eventually groove the valve face. On standard lifters, they, and the lobes, are ground to rotate but that is to reduce and even the wear on the bottom of the lifter and has nothing to do with the valves.
HD roller lifters are not connected in pairs. No rotation of the lifter with rollers lifters or roller cams. Lifter turning is only happening in flat tappet cams. Valve turning is completely separate from lifter turning. The rocker arm activates the valve. The valve may spin due to the action the coil spring imparts on the valve, that's it.
Oh ok, the ones I've seen on autos were connected in pairs. Without that you would need a guide or something I would think to keep the rollers straight to the cam lobes. Thanks for additional information though.

Again thanks for that additional data. I've never heard of rotators on the valve retainers either but I'm not an expert on such.
Pretty sure the H-D valves don't turn. You can see that by looking at the valve stem surface and you can see there the rocker arm tip rides. If everything is aligned properly, the wear mark from the rocker arm tip should be centered on the face of the valve stem.
Like said before roller lifters wont turn they are locked in by a pin. and on cars the exhaust valve had a rotator on the spring to keep the valve from getting hot spots and HD doesnt turn the valves, besides at 8000 miles i wouldnt even think of messing with my engine unless it was coming apart.
