The J&M are good speakers, much better than stock. I think they are way over priced, but if you can get a good set of used ones they are well worth it.

LOL thats too funny. I just did a mild upgrade from stock speakers to hogtunes. A noticeable difference and I am pleased with it so far. Next will be either amp or tweeter pod to really give it some kick.

Agreed. I've been very unhappy with my J&M's since I installed them last year. Terrible midrange. Really crappy sound although they are "loud". I'm stuck with them for now.

J&M 7.25 Speakers

Just installed these last night on my 07 FLHX and I was disapointed. Did not have good sound at low volume trying all kind of bass and treble settings. Also felt that the volume had to be higher to get the same loudness out of these speakers. Could run the radio at full volume without distortion though. I too may be putting my factory speakers back in.

Love my J&M amp and love my J&M 7.25 speakers. I guess every one hears things a little different.

You've got speakers that you say sound as good as the J & M set-up, but they only handle forty watts, so your money on the amp is wasted, correct? Why bother with an amp if your speakers can't handle it? Don't get me wrong, I've got the same set-up as you had, and I'm not overly impressed with my speakers either, but if I had to change something, it would be different speakers, but ones that could handle more than 40 watts a piece.
