What kind of gas mileage should I get on a 2002 Road King carb model? What docking hardware do most everyone use for their backrest? Thanks for the replys. I finially got the bike ive been looking for, even if it is ten years old.
Congrats on your RK. I ride with a god friend who has a '99 Road King and to this day gets great mileage and is super happy with his ride. he has 40000+ miles on it.
I indeed have an '02 Road King FLHR (note, no 'I'!!). Highway crusing at 80 I get around 35-38. Slow it down and it goes up. Around town I probably average a few ticks over 40. I can certainly do better, but I don't tend to ride that slow or conservative. I get about 160 miles out of a tank (~4 gallons then reserve).
I have the 4 point docking points, and I would highly recommend 4 over the 2.
Thanks SoCalMike, that was the info I was looking for. Ive only ran one tank of gas, and was suprised at how low the gas mileage was vs my Sportster. I think I will go with the 4pt hardware also.
