Louder than satins fart! Lot of times you can Buy them on ebay for half retail. ( I did)The right one will turn gold in under a 100 miles. IMO they ran good but were too loud and turned colors, sold mine and bought vance and hines ovals, much better sound and quality+ good performance. oh,way better looks too.
Baloney. The only reason the Hookers, or any pipe for that matter, will turn gold is from heat discoloration from running too lean. The Hookers flow a LOT of air, which is why they provide such excellent dyno numbers. The more air you flow, the leaner you are running. You've got to retune the bike if you run the Hookers. I've got 6500 miles on my Street Glide and the Hookers look just like they did the day I bought them - no discoloration whatsoever. Of course I also had my bike dyno tuned - to me that's just common sense.

Doug
Mine was tuned with PCIII and correct map.

Take a look at my sig pic. I shot it about 2 weeks ago with 6500 miles on the bike. The pipes have been on from day one. There is no hint of discoloration - not even the slightest. A picture is worth a thousand words.

UGGA, nice looking bike. I really like those Hookers. I know they have a nice sound to them and put up some good performance.

Thanks Longtime. Your ride looks sweet to - love that anniversary black & silver!

Yeah, the Hookers have a great sound. Not overly loud, but way deep. I've spent way too much money on different exhausts over the years, and I've finally settled on the Hookers. Never found or heard anything that I personally like as much as them.

I run a set of the Hooker tuneables on a 2001 RoadKing 95" they were one of the best performing slipons I had ever run, set the left to T and the right to H, they also sounded pretty good.

I too have the Hookers pipes, love them. I was wanting to know Harleypaw did you remap when you set the left to T and the right to H ?

I put the hookers on at the same time as the 95" kit, dynoed after break in, I did have some popping on down shifting, wasn't much so I left the map alone.

Ok I'm new to this and new to this bike, I have hookers on it and the other owner stated he had them set for horsepower. Is that what you guys are talking about. Also how would you change them anyway?

The Hookers have adjustable baffles, as opposed to interchangeable like other makes. To adjust them, loosen the 2 allens (equally)at the back ofeach muffler and then rotate the baffle to the desired setting. The letter "H" stands for horsepower and "T" means torque. At the "T" setting the airflow will be more restricted, the bike will be quieter, torque will increase and horsepower will decrease. Just the opposite for the "H" setting. A lot of guys run the left muffler at "T" and the right at "H" - that's what I'm doing.

You can also have your setting anywhere between "T" and "H" - experimenting is fun. Just be aware that you are changing your air/fuel ratio when you adjust your baffles. These puppies flow a lot of air - especially at the "H" setting. Be sure to have your bike tuned after you find a setting that you like or you will be running seriously lean.
