i just installed Khrome Werks bagger apes on my FLHX this summer. These are also 1 1/4" bars. I have no problems like you mentioned.

These are the same 6 bend bars as the Wild Ones but much cheaper to buy. Couldn't be happier with them. I am 6 foot and went with the 12 inch bars.

These are my 13" Cyclesmiths Apes and I love them. I am 5' 8" with a 29 inseam and 32 inch arm reach and they fit me perfectly. Highly recommend them.
