I have a 2010 flhx this winter plan on putting apes on it. Have it narrowed down to Wild One wo576 or wo577 or just Paul Yaffes classic 12" or 14" apes. I was pretty much set on the wo577, until I saw some pictures of the bars not letting the ignition plate set flush and the bars hitting the cover below the faring because of the 1 1/4" diameter, anyone else had the problems? Has anyone used the classic ape Yaffe bars(if so do you have pics), I know a lot of you guys have used the monkey bars, but I just can't afford them. Another question 12" or 14", I'm 6'2" and all ready have an hd tall boyseat, thanks for any and all input!
One search for "bars" or "apes" in the forum and you'll be buried in threads looking at (and sometimes beating to death) everything from technical specs to opinions....ok, mostly opinions. I didn't run apes on my SG but do on my RK and there a lot of excellent quality bars out there...I am going to go Carlini Gangster Apes in a few months from some basic 1 1/4" Buffalo bar apes to be sure they have the curve at the bottom to go around my Dragonfly wen I am running with it.
You may or may not get a lot of response as this topic, like pipes, shocks, seats...and dare I even utter the word "oil" threads are packed into this forum with some great info (and maybe some entertainment along the way)...see for yourself if you haven't already in the search function.
As long as you're buying a reputable brand, this is very subjective of course.
Check these out............I have a feeling that before long more people will hear of Vindikta and the awesome work Joe is doing and these bars will take off. The nice thing is the wait is 1/4 of if not shorter than a few other custom fabricators
I'm running the 577s on my SG. Had to remove the rubber half moons on the ends of the switch housing due to the 1 1/4 bars to make it set right. Used +6 clutch and brake but needed no wire extensions. They are super comfortable for me.

Those are nice bars, but at $325 a bit more than I am wanting to spend.

Thanks for the reply with pic's, had myself talked into those until I started to do some research.
