I asked the same question of a saleman at the dealer when I was converting from Rice! He got in front of a Fatboy on the sales floor, grabbed the downtubes and pulled it forward about three feet dragging the jiffy stand. It was locked in place.
I cringed when he did this, I though it would fold up like my Shadows, Road Star, Goldwings, Magna's and every other metric. They will fold up, the Jiffy locks when the weight of the bike is on it.
So i'm finding out different stuff daily about the HD brand, and i'm a little woried about the kickstand. I am new to the locking type kickstand, has it ever failed? When i put it down with the bike in neutral the bike always moves a bit and the kickstand seems to always act like it's gonna fold back to the up position? I was looking and there is nothing broke as to what i can see, i dig how it locks when there is presure on the bike but everytime i put it down it spooks me. Am i worried for nothing?
Here is the info (with pic.) that will explain why you don't have to worry about the bike fall off anymore, as I was before.

The jiffy stand works great, it takes a little getting used if you have never had one.
It locks for sure it's been tried once one of our friend broke down and we had to pull over on the side of the freeway and then a big rig just passed by one of our bike start taking off with the draft dragging the kickstand for few feet.
I just pulled my bike forward while on the jiffy and it locked.
Actually, the bike locks the stand as soon as it leans on its side; no need to move the bike forward.
The bike may move forward a little bit, as it is not a tight fit lock, and that may give the rider the feeling that the bike is locked after it moves forward. Look at this info!

The kickstand is part of the Harley excitement.
Especially when the bike rolls forward, but it won't fail
