Where do you get the disk for the software? The dealer tossed in a SEPST for my FLHTK but I do not think I recieved cables nor a disk. Anyone got the part numbers?
what olsenjb is doing is exactly right for the tuner he's got...the only changeable parameter he has is the air fuel adjustment but thats all he needs. he can store up to 15 minutes of run time each time he rides with the tuner and can tweek it.
once again some one asked what time it was and a dozen watchmakers jump in to tell him all about clocks.....
This actually sounds very similar to the "Smart Tune" option available with the SEPST and software. You plug the SEPST in to the ECM, drive around for 30-45 mins. while recording info from the O2 sensors, download the info, and the software makes adjustments to the map based on how you drive your bike. The more recordings you do, the closer it gets your map to how you ride. Like I said in my original post, I've done maybe 8-10 recordings, and it's getting pretty close.
This is very similar, the difference is the O2 readable range, NB vs WB. The WB system will read actual AF values from idle to redline outside the range of the NBs. It is not necessary to load a VE calibration map and V tune, just load a close base map and dial it in based on feedback. Nothing wrong or better about any of the devices discussed here, just different means to the same end, a well tuned bike.
Humble apologies for distracting the tread with a bunch of useless BS info, I was just trying to help the OP avoid wasting a bunch of time trying to correct a problem that didn't exist; a lean condition based on plug color. We did get a litttle off track. Drive on, best of luck with the tuning. I would like to ask though, with the SE and TTS tuners, how do you validate your AFRs outside the cruise range that have enriched values below what the OEM NB sensors can read? I hope there is a watchmaker that can explain how this clock works.
Interesting, I like what these kits can do...just ride your normal and you can see it all on a laptop...genius...I didnt know this option was available, I will need to study up on this. What are they reffering to these type of systems, is there an acronym or phrase that I can use as a search method?
I guess the generic name would be O2 datalogger, I believe Innovate makes a similar device.
