I have the Hogtunes amp & speaker kit on my '10 Road Glide. It made a big difference at low speed but not really what I wanted for the highway. I still have a hard time overcoming the exhaust & wind noise at higher speeds. Around town though I went from 3/4 volume all the time to 1/2.
We just got through testing it out. It's a little bit better than the old amp, but for highway riding, you need a lot more power than what Hogtunes' amp puts out. On the flip side, Hogtunes products don't cost a lot.
For highway riding, I personally run the J&M 7.25" ROKKER series speakers with the J&M 250 watt 2 channel amp on my 2009 Street Glide and at 80+ MPH, it gives me volume, clarify and sound range I was always looking for.
If you do a lot of highway riding, which most of us do, go J&M.
We have tested and we sell every audio brand out there and J&M has proven itself again and again to be superior and to be the best bang for the buck.
For any locals, stop by for a J&M bike sound demo. You will be amazing at the amount of sound that comes out two motorcycle fairing speakers.
I just installed the NEW HogTunes amp/speaker combo but I cant give you any feedback yet because I can no lnger get any radio stations because of my internal antenna I have on my Street Glide. I guess because the new amp is digital it conflicts with the antenna.
I just ordered the new Hogtunes 70.2 amp. I'll be using it with a pair of Polk MM651s and the Hogpod tweeters. I'll report back on the results, I'm sure it will rock. Remember, the efficiency of the speakers used is more important than the wattage of the amp, in most cases. The Polks are rated at 94db, and the Hogtunes amp is rated at 70 watts per channel, but has been tested at over 80 watts. You need to double the wattage to gain 3 db of volume, or put another way, you need twice the power for equal volume for every 3 db less of speaker efficiency. A pair of 88db speakers would require an amp pushing 280 watts per channel to equal the volume of these Polks and the Hogtunes amp!
Have the Hogtunes Big Ultra kit with the tweeter bar installed on my '07 ultra. Have absolutely no problem hearing it at 70+ mph, and I dont even have to turn it all the way up. Radio comes out worse because it is an analog signal - if you use something digital like a CD (or I also have the iPod interface adapter ) then it comes out much cleaner.
Had J&Ms in there before - not impressed at all. Blew out after a short time, J&M told me it was my fault that I overloaded them. Meanwhile it was only the stock radio in there. See ya!

I'm even more grateful to UltraNutZ for talking me out of getting the new Hogtunes 70.2 amp. Other than from HogTunes, I personally have not heard or read anything good about it. I did purchase the HogTunes tweeters. I'll use them to compliment the Soundstream PN4.250 Amp and Polk DB 651. The install will happen this weekend. I can't wait!

Hey Kyinggame, if you talk to Ultranutz or if you get a chance, I posted a question in the tech section. Maybe you or he can answer it.Thanks
Send UltraNutZ a private message--he's great with answering questions and giving advice. Dude knows his stuff. I was going to get the HogTunes amp but he set me (as well as hundreds/thousands of others straight). I'm no expert in audio. I just asked him about 100 questions and then ordered everything that I need. I can't wait to do the install this weekend. He's urging me not to install the HogTunes tweeters--says I won't need them but I've already had them painted along with my inner fairing.
