Get what you want, or you will never be happy. Besides if your getting an 07 and all yourworried about is getting a flat tire then you will be just fine.
My 18" 80 spoke wheels were tubeless. They were made by American Wire Wheel, but all of the major wheel sources offer to make the spoke wheels tubeless. Never had a problem with mine, but I'm sure they are not without their downside.
Oh fer cryin' out loud! If you like laced wheels, buy 'em and ride 'em. Life is too short to worry about what might happen. You guys act like anyone without mag wheels is doomed. How did the world survive over a hundred years of laced motorcycle wheels?
Otherwise, always wear a helmet just in case you get hit by a meteorite.

Being able to fix the flat on the side of the road is great. I have had to do this on 3 occasions that I can recall. But, I don't consider the this a permanent fix. Even when I get a flat in a cage I make sure that the plugged tire goes to the rear. And that is to reduce the chance of the plug giving way at an in-opportune time. On a bike I don't care if it is front or rear it comes off my bike. So, if youdecide tochange the plugged tire, you may make it to the dealer an hour or two ahead of me but who cares. Then you have a reason to look at all the cool stuff they have on hand.
Thanks all for the words of wisdom, except for your guys that sided with the better half, even though she's probably right. Man...you sold me out quick, she's LOL.
I'm not worried about the '07 issues, bikes got warranty. Besides, I've fixed or tinkered with everything else I ever owned.
I have laced on my Ultra and also had laced on my previous bike. Love the look. Have road through dozens of states with no problems. If I get a flat, so be it. Nothing beats the look of the chrome spokes.
Laced all the way.AL slotted and spoked wheels belong on cars....not bikes. I've ridden close to 100K on bikes over the years with one flat. Just another perspective.
