Default oil filter cool collar

was on ebay and came across this cool collar for the oil filter. it acts like a heat sink for the oil filter. what do you think. it was a harley part at one time.

I got one a year or two ago. Haven't used it yet. Adding more area and heat sink fins have to help to a point.

I had one and worked pretty good. Gave it to a friend when I put on a oil cooler. I think its worth the cost plus its made quite well, at least mine was.

I was covering the filter with an alum can anyway, just bought it.

Will black powder coat defeat some of it's cooling?

I used one on my Softail and it dropped it about 15* according to my oil bag gauge. I put an Ultra Cool my my Ultra Classic and put a hose clamp in the way or I'd still be using it. Plan on moving the clamp at next oil change. I live in S TX, any cooling is good.

here's the message I got after buying one:
"Note to buyer:
I'll ship this out first thing today & leave you some great feedback. Thanks again, Kevin Oilcooler@aol.com PS: If you or any of your friends would like another cooler just email me direct at Oilcooler@aol.com & I'll give you free Priority Mail Shipping. That's over a five dollar discount & you'll get the cooler in 1-3 days depending on how far you are from Akron, Ohio."
