07 Throttle Sleeve Issue/ Ape Install/Help!
This is my first post, but I have been reading this forum for a while now.
So here is the issue, I'm installing a set of 12.5 Hill Country apes on an 07 Ultra. No real issuse until i went to install the throttle sleeve and connect the cables. I noticed the sleeve did not rotate smoothly on the new bar and when i connected the cables, the throttle would not return to the closed position. I disconnected the cables and noticed that the sleeve had some play at the switch housing side, but no play on the bar end.
I used a hand file, and filed the end of the handlebar until the throttle sleeve rotated freely and than sanded the bars with 180 through 1500 sandpaper until smooth. I didn't get a change to reconnect the cables and try the throttle but,
has anyone else had this problem with new bars, and is there anything else i should do? The cables do pull freely. I can pull them by hand and they snap back good. THANKS.
