Just reading this I think these are what I am leaning towards too. I want to go a couple inches higher than stock and little closer would not hurt either than stock. I don't know if I am sold on the width, but looking at the ergo bars and and the WO577 or 578 they are not as wide as these. I plan on changing the clutch cable and I am hoping the other wires and cables all work on my 12 streetglide. While I am doing this I am going to paint the inner fairing ember red also.
It sounds like a great plan. Having had the Sweepers on for a good while now, they are almost too wide in my opinion. I like them but I still sometimes think, "damn these bars are wide."
You know the width I was contemplating to, but looking at other bars that I was interested in these were the narrowist. It must be from the angle were your grips go, instead of the ends coming back to you they go straight out on all these bars anymore.
My plan is to make the brake lines and electric lines work, but I will switch out the clutch cable that is used frequently.
I'd like my bars to be a few more inches "back", whether or not I gain any "rise" in the deal, but the "wider" part concerns me... It seems that closer quarter maneuvering may be more tricky with wider bars. No?

Not sure what you mean by "close quarters" but I found that wider bars handle better at slow speed than narrow bars...move leverage maybe?
I had a 93 CowGlide and the fat boy bars were easier at slow speeds...just my opinion...
I agree wider bars are easier to work with during tight cornering at slow speeds. Just put the 2 +2 on my road glide. Great bars, it brings them back a few inches to releive that pinching that makes your hand and arm go numb.

Thos look good on your rg. I am almost certain this is what I am going to go with on my 2012 sg. Did you notice a difference on being a little higher than stock also? I hope so
