Why spend all that $ on a tour pack that will never be used as intended? You would have been better off with a detachable tour-pack rack and the bungee touring luggage onto it (like T-Bags or similar). You would have more room at the end.

I'm just sayin'...

Seems to me the Tour-Pac was intended to pack things and the byproduct is that you can lean against it not the other way around. It's called a tour-pac not a backrest-pac. The ability to lock it up, be out of sight, grab the bag inside and not undue everything is worth the expense if you do a lot of traveling which I do.

I'm thinking of a chopped pak from HD also. Just wondering if you could tell me what yours came with? I know I'd need a backrest of some sort but what about the hinges, latches, lock and tether cord? Did the hardware come installed ready to use? Thanks for any info.

comes with hinges and latches. you'll have to buy the locking mech separately. slide your black plastic cover off your key and order by that code. then you'll only need the one key to open your saddlebags, tourpack, steering lock, etc. the lock is cheap, around $20. it comes all put together, just install on your rack and go.

now you can buy the upgraded hinges, latches, and retractable tether. but you don't have to.
