toketee I have a 06 ultra and iwould get the wobble one in a while ifoung that a little front brake would pull it out of the wobble I also changed from the dunlop d-402 to the dunlop E-3' and have not had the wobble since and i have been through 3 sets of E-3"s
Your or my vocation/credentials has no bearing on this discusion, so knock the spitting match and get to the point. The only thing you are is an arm chair quarterback as far as I am concerned.
There is no substitution for experience, there is no substitution for using your head, there is no substitution for riding with in your and machines limits. The only thing a any of these bolt ladder braces do including the one you always pimp is potentially put in experience riders at risk. Nothing but a placebo. You or the manufacturers can not offer any quanitative data. Period!!

So fish, have you ever tried a True Track(or similar product for that matter)? If not, exactly what are you basing your definitive opinion on? I've tried my bike(2009 FLTR) before and after installing mine, over the exact same stretch of road, on the same day of installation, using the exact same suspension settings, and ridden at the same speed. The result; it handles better with the True Track. I don't know what else to say.
I don't know if "placebo" is the right word but I think all the products that offer enhanced handeling are bandaids. The new frame design might be an improvment over the previous years as it should be. We all know that there are other better handeling bikes for very hot riding (ie racing, pushing limits ) but they probablly are not anything like the FL??? we are riding. I do think that the addition of the handeling devices allow riding beyond the limits of the design. I have used 2 different products on different bikes, they help but are not a cure. I think they can mask underling problems, but if everything is in good working order they will help. Not saying they do not have a place, just saying makeing sure the rest of the bike is in good working order.
I have an 06 Ultra and although I had never experienced the feared "wobble" I had the Progressive device installed,I chose the P. over the others because it allowed me to retain the E-Z Up center stand and because of their reputation,the other day I was looking at the Glide-Pro set up and I liked a lot the way it was made and it seemed to address the problem and would be compatible with the Progressive since it only replaces the stock parts with better ones.Would that further improve the ride?If somebody out there has one please chime in.Oh,I also upgraded the rear shocks to the Progressive 440s and the Ricor Intiminators in the forks.
I have not had any wobble on my RKC. I have just over 4K on it with approximately 600 miles of two up riding through some varied road conditions ( not just freeway miles). I weight 172 and the passenger was 135, so we had a tick over 300#
I check pressures in shocks and tires pre-ride and so far so good.
I ride at post speeds or a tick over, I think my speedo reads faster than I am actually going. I admit to riding in the ZEN Zone of 85 mph at times and then having to adjust before a LEO tags me out. I even felt 110 to be very stable with loaded saddle bags and touring soft bag on the backrest.

I am sure you have seen a race, I have seen that on a race prepared bike. And truthfully you probaly have eperienced this. But by your signature you know how to react.
I have watched many road-course type motorcycle races and have seen this wobble a lot on them race bikes when the rider goes in too fast.
I haven't been riding a bagger very long, so I try to stay at the posted speed limit/suggestion. I hit the pavement at 65 mph once when I was a teenager, I don't ever want to do it again.
My .02, I had a 07 vrscaw ( vrod) developed a wobble on the straight always over 110 mph. Neck bearings were out of spec and shitty dunlops were cupped at 5000 miles. Metzlers and fall away adjustment cured wobble. Fast forward to 2010 road king new frame no wobble yada yada. Got a wobble in the corners once I started really pushing the bike in the twisties. I consider doubling the advised speed as pushing it. Swapped dunlops for metzlers, se fork oil, dumped the air shocks for harleys gas version. Problem solved. Don't know if it was one thing or the combo of everything but something was mechanically wrong with my bike and a brace would have only covered up the problem. I can't comment on the earlier frames as I've never rode one so this is my experience with my bikes and my opinion is that the brace is only a band aid
