I also have the xtrim. Installed it the first time I took the outer fairing off. Much higher quality trim than OEM and none of that nasty glue. I have read that you can get something very similar, at lower cost, at Auto Zone or Pep Boys.

AutoZone has 3/8" X 27" door trim. Comes in packs of 2 for $3.99. Cut off 2" and install. No problems thus far.

I've had xtrim on my fairing for over two years. Good stuff and it will last the life of the bike. Looks better too.
My original would creep loose at speed and flap in the wind. Also the glue was always oozing out. Xtrim just slides in place and needs no adhesive.

I'm sure door edge could be purchased cheaper and if I had to do it again I would probably go that route.
