Brukus is the way to go. What's 50 bucks when your riding a 15-20K dollar bike ?

Mine would sometimes hit the tank so I dipped them in plasti-cote to protect the paint...

For me its not a cost problem, I'm thinking about the Brukus kit (I have their Saddle Bag Secure kit), but I really do want the windshield to be quick detachable.

My shield is solidly planted where it should be, and I was out in a *very* windy day on Wednesday with no problems, but the spring latches are connected to exactly nothing on my bike, they are not making anything safer or less likely to come off.

I guess I answered my own question, but I was curious to hear if anyone else was thinking the same thing.

Me too....the quick release is just waiting for someone to steal your windshield...unless you plan to take em on & off a lot why leave it to chance? I did the same thing to my hard bags, those cheesy spring clasps can be bent real easy have any idea how expensive replacing those are?

I have one shield where they work as they are supposed to, but my other one, they are totally useless. I tried to bend them into working, to no avail. I'll try loosening the bolt, to see if that helps lining them up, if that won't work, guess I'll have to buy something that does. Did not know brukus had a setup for this, thanks for posting.

I think you guys need to adjust yours.
I can't pull my windshield off with out lifting the wire latches.
Windshield has always been stable, even in 50+ mpg winds

I had just bent the latches down further to ensure this didn't happen. I have the scratches on it to remind me that It doesn't work very well. I'd do the Brukus security set-up, but I'm a cheap SOB. Any cheaper alternatives?
I run a zip tie around the clip and the rubber bolt thing on each side. I cut excess zip tie off making sure the lock portion is towards bottom. Requires wire cutters to cut and remove zip ties before i remove shield on my road king if cleaning or servicing..Since the zip tie's are black they are not easily visible against the black rubber things...a bit more secure and cheap.

+1! I bent the clips to make sure that I don't lose it again but the zip ties are added security.

I have the Bruckus setup but also have a Memphis Shades batwing which uses a quick detach same as the rider back rest QD and am going to try to incorporate it into the RK shield. Just a matter of time although I should look at it today as its been raining here at Daytona for the third day today.
