I installed an ARC amp with the Titan-Hertz speakers. The sound is so much better but now I have a hissing sound coming off the speakers that you hear at very low volume or even if the radio is off. I wired You can only hear with the engine off. Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal? Thanks..
make sure you have a good ground on the amp seem to remember hiss from when I used to put car stereos in
It could be the ground. I grounded to the exiting ground on the tree but I did not use any wire brush. It may be is not getting a good ground. It is a b@tch to reach that area.
Try turning the gain down and your receiver volume up.
You are getting noise.....
Put a choke on the power line to the amp.
An inductor in series, and a cap to ground.
Go to radio shack and ask for a line filter, they will be able to set you up...
Ground would be my first choice, does it change when you turn on a blinker or hazards? you could have voltage or interferance causeing it. and I always try to keep my ground wire less then 18" long. are you runing a factory deck? or do you have RCA imputs into the amp?
Another thing its always a good idea to use dialectric grease in all your conectors.
