Default fitment issues...help please!

i'm in the process of installing full blown stereo system in my fathers streetglide--
Also part of the install are extended bags he bought from sinister, and speaker lids from Rock n Tops....

He had a local shop order the bags and lids for him, and paint them to match.
After installing the speakers, i noticed the lids dont close properly--they hang up on one side and are difficult to close. This is unusual and not an issue with the lids, as i installed them on my bike and have not had any problems.

I took the bags off this weekend to drill a port for speaker wire, and realized what is causing the problems. The front and rear mounts are out of alignment and do not meet up with the bag--the rear mount hits the bag perfectly but the front mount is about 1/2" too "short". I have to force the front pin to go in, and it causes the bag to twist out of shape-- and then the lid wont fit.
Looking at the mounts where the pins get inserted, they are not parallel to each other, and they look to be the same on both sides.
I dont have the stock bag to compare to, but never encountered any issues with them.
I hope this make sense--hopefully the pictures will make it more clear.
Bike is 2008 street glide.

Question is--are the mounts different on this bike? do i need to replace one of the mounts to make the bag fit, without forcing it?

The mounts loosen up can they be adjusted to line up with holes in bag?

looks like the front mounts need about a 9/16" spacer to move them to where the bag is, if that pushes the whole bag out too far, maybe the rear mount needs to be shortened...

I suppose you use the bottom support bar to determine proper distance from frame and figure out brackets to that, so that the bags are held but not stressed

anyone buying ebay or super awesome Kustom parts should mock the fit before paint.

Silly question and I haven't checked my bike, but could you have possibly swapped the front and rear mounts?

The saddlebag mounts are fully adjustable, just loosen the bolt that holds the bracket to the frame, install and line up the mounts to the holes in the bag, leaving the mount brackets loose. Once you re=install the locking pins then tighten up the mounting bracket bolts. I just went through this, also I had to space the mounting brackets further out than they were before, 2 washers behind the bracket did the trick. Good luck.

duh....I didnt even think to look if they were adjustable.
I just figured the shop that put then on would have done that...they didnt.

I moved the rear mount in a little, added a washer to the front--perfect fit.

Thanks a ton for the tip!!
I was really scratchin my head, thinking I had to order a new mount or something.
