Amp install with factory security

Anything I need to do when installing the power supply to the battery considering I have the factory security system? I assume I will have to temporarily unhook the red leads into the battery to connect the new power to the amp. Thought I read something one day about something needing done if you have security. Thanks!!

Might it have been the P&A Bulletin P-66 you had stumbled across about battery drain?

maybe just turn ignition on before disconnect battery wires... it will make your bike stay quiet

OK, that must have been what it was. I don't think mine has the siren, but reading over the owners manual, it says to turn the ignition on with the fob close to bike to disarm the system then remove battery (if you have the siren). I just didn't want to go unplugging stuff and have it lock me out

I've never had a problem. Just keep your fob with you when you pull the main fuse and when you put it back. The say to disarm the security first, but I have never done that.
