depends if you want looks, get the FatBoy. If you want a better ride get the Ultra. The stereo and stuff are just extras. Make the tour pac detachable add a shorter windshield instant Street Glide wannabe.

Being a newbie to the HD world, I have little knowledge. Peronally, I would and did go with the EG, Ultra to be exact. Looked at many HDs but only rode the EG in various forms. Loved it enough that there is a 2012 Ultra EG Classic in my garage.

The Ultra is just that, Ultra. Also I cannot stand the wheels on the Fatboy. Get the Ultra!

You are comparing apples to oranges here. The Ultra is a fantastic touring bike, the Fat Boy not so much. It's hard to do a side to side comparison here. I like the Fat Boy for the fact it's relatively unmodified, and while I'm an Ultra guy myself, the high power mods and the higher mileage on the Ultra scare me a bit. Have to give the nod to the Fat Boy on this one.

If I had a $10K budget, I'd set my sights on the nicest lowest mile '02+ TC 88 touring model I could find.
