I havthe Rienhart true duals on my 06 SG. I noticed significant baffle rattle the other day is this a common problem? Is there a good way to solve the rattle( besides the obvious replace the exhaust)?
Take the end cap off and remove the baffle. There is a "ring" around the baffle to keep it centered in the pipes. Take a pair of channel locks and bend the ring out slightly in a couple of places anf re-insert the baffle in the pipes.
Rienharts suck. I know this first hand. The baffles rattle and the chrome falls off and that is just the beginning because Rienhart will take care of nothing when you file a claim.
I did everything that everyone suggested and the rattle remained then I figured out that the rattle was actually coming from the front of the muffler where the baffle goes into the muffler. I took the baffle out for the umteenth time and wrapped it with fiberglass tape and beat it back in with a rubber mallet. Rattle gone.
