01 Road King Squeaks
I have an 01 Road King Classic. I purchased this last summer. I noticed that once the weather got cold there was a squeak when letting off the throttle such as when shifting between 3rd and 4th. Also this occurs when simply letting off the throttle when cold. At one point this squeak laster for several seconds. Once everything warms up the squeak goes completely away. Sounds like it is coming from directly under the gas tank.

hard to tell from here, also check exhaust system for leaks ( get a piece of tubing to your ear, run the other end other the pipe joints, you'll hear it if you find a leak.
often when decellerating ( road speed not motor speed) a chirp/zing will occur if the rear belt is too slack- this most often happens when an owner lowers a bike and doesn't check belt tension afterwards.
