Mustang Super touring seat owners.. question for you.
SO the desc. on the site says it sits you back 1.75, which is what I want...I got some long legs. But I also see some sites, like say Phat, that it sits you a little lower as well. After reading some opinions thru searches some people say the same thing...back and lower. But back further then which stock seat? or lower then which stock seat? I have an ultra seat, which is a huge cushion.. but when i sit on a SG... thats lower and feels back further.
So my question for you is:
What model do you have your seat on and how does the seating position feel compared to that models stock seat?
I am a fan of Mustang... had one on my previous 3 bikes, so I know its will be comfortable.. just trying to get an idea where I'd be in reference to my stock Ultra seat.
I have a 2011 Street Glide, the Mustang sit does sit me back, not sure if it is 1.75 or not. It does take away the passenger seating, she sits closer to me which she likes but in the summer you do get hotter being so close. For me it raises me up some and my thighs hit the seat more, i do not sit as flat footed and it is more difficult to back the bike up. I also have the floor boards that are a inch or so forward. This is compared to the 2011 stock Street Glide seat. I am 5'9" (long legged compared to torso) and i like the more streched sitting position has i came from forward controls on my old Fat Bob.
From a stock '11 Ultra seat you will be back some and a little lower. I'm 6' with a 34" inseam and I like the Super Touring. I did not like the Wide Touring as it pushed me forward.
I just took the first ride tonight on the Mustang Super tour 2 up seat with backrest.
Only went to dinner so I can not comment of the comfort just yet. But I did do my best to measure the seat height and depth.
This is what I found.........
The seat does move me back about 1.75" but to be honest, it is almost impossible to measure. The stock seat is hard to figure out where you butt is when sitting just by looking at it. It does not have a flat surface to measure from.
But I did measure the distance of my "boyz" from the tank! With the stock seat, my boyz were almost touching the tank, with the mustang, I have what looks like about 1.75 or more.
As for the seat height? Well it's not as easy as measuring the height from the floor. The seat slopes down towards the rear of the seat.
With the mustang seat, It looks like my windshield is a little taller. Hard to tell if it is because I am further back or if I sit lower on the bike because the seat slopes a little.
I would say it does sit you slightly lower but only because you are sitting further back in the seat.
The seat looks good and feels firmer than the stock seat. And fare warning, the mustang Super Tour is WIDE!! It is 19" wide compared to the stock seat at 16' wide. It kinda fits you **** like a big catchers mitt........lol.
I to have the super tour seat w/back rest on my 2010 EGC. I am 6'2" and I can be flat foot easy at a stop with this seat. The seat is wider then the stock seat and it does move you back and down a little. VERY comfy on long rides...like the other poster said "like a catchers mit" for your a$$!
Back and up.
I love my Vintage Super Touring seat enough that I went out and bought a Vintage Super Solo as well for when the boss isn't along with me.
Thanks guys.... My previous mustangs were all wider then the stock seats too...minus the Fastback I had on my superglide, but that was still extremely comfortable.
So it looks like I will have to see what kind of info I can dig up on these C&C seats now for my comparison. I've narrowed it down to the the supertouring from Mustang or a C&C sporttour..wish some modification(moved back and whatever their premium cushion is that still keeps a lower profile)
