This is the first bike with ABS and is this that crazy sensation I'm getting???
That's it!

Have you installed the 09's software update that completely change (improved "a lot") the performance of the system.

Dang, I was afraid of that. Guess I've gotta retrain the brain on trail braking.

surprised that this thread isn't pulled. having info like that in writing sure opens up a whole lot of law suits if anybody were to disable their abs and get into an accident, and come back to whoever suggested how to disable a brake safety system. sounds like liability issues to me. just sayin. we deal with people in their cars that want us to do stuff similar to this. we don't touch it with a ten foot pole

My question is, if I pull the fuse for the abs will it disable it? And if so, is there any reason that I can't put a switch in line to disable it on command?
Hope someone can help! Thanks, Scott

I would suggest that if you don't like ABS, you sell or trade your bike.

Why?

Your insurance would probably be no good if you get in an accident after disabling ABS.

You would be liable for any injuries or damage in an accident, because your insurance company would probably bail on you.

The lawsuit after you kill someone would cost you everything you own, and will ever own.

There it is, it's the end of rational thinking on this thread, the safety and legal police have arrived.

I don't car what people do to their bikes, or cars for that matter. not mine, do what you want. but there are issues that do make for libel and dis abling a braking system that is integrated into the can and brake system itself is a huge red flag in anybodys book. as long as you know about it do what you want. sometimes, rational doesn't go beyond what is practical. I don't intend to be safety police, maybe just a voice of reason, and besides, I didn't say for the poster to do anything, it was directed to moderators

So, did you disable yours? Pretty damn easy for you to tell someone else it's OK to do.

I say disable it. When your face is in the back of a semi trailer then you'll now it wasn't a good idea.

Libel is a false statement that is intended to ruin someones reputation. And no one on here told the op to do anything. He asked if something could be done. If the mods pull this thread for legal reasons then they need to pull any threads that suggest any type of modification that may make a motorcycle inherently unsafe or illegal.
