I like to switch back and forth between solo and 2 up seat.
When the solo is on, the mounting hole for the 2 up seat remains empty & unsightly.
In my previous bikes, I had a sweet little cap - from Harley - that easily popped in and out as needed. It was chrome, but I painted it to match.
I have been to 3 dealers in NE Ohio - and none can find it or remember the part number.
Anyone know it?
I'm NOT looking for the flat little black one with the shield that goes in if you remove the c clamp and threaded piece.
I'm NOT looking for the quick release screw/hardware. I already have that and use it with the 2 up seat. It's too big and "out there" to leave in when the solo is on (IMO).
Many threads have talked about and shown images of this little plug / bung / cap - but no part numbers or link to buy it online - and, like I said - neither I or my local dealerships can seem to identify/locate it.
Can anyone help? I want to cover this hole with something that is low profile, that I can paint to match the fender, that quickly goes in and out (I do NOT want to remove the c clamp / threaded socket)
Ask a dealer to check the HD parts book applicable for the 2003 Anniversary Softail Springer--that's an OEM part on that particular bike and should provide the p/n.
I got a plug today from my local Harley store. The plug is black, fits flush and has the Harley emblem in it. It came from a 883R (roadster) from around the 2007 year. It is called fender plug. I think the part number is 761.
Made the 2 up seat hole all but disappear on my 2012 Road King.
Good luck.

Reason: add part number
I bought an auto interior panel fastener from Ace Hardware and painted it with my touch up. It drops right in the hole. I leave the bung in place for faster seat changes. Otherwise it would fit flush. Cost me .39 (plus $25 for the Harley touch up paint)

That's my bike and pictures. I'm glad to see it but how did you get them? I've since changed to have the detachable hardware on since OL says she's going more.
