I,ve put it off too long,I need a louder horn. Every time I,ve been out in the last 3 months I,ve had someone pull out in front of me or us. I,m down to road rage at the next dumba.. that pull out in front of me, as if, no one is there. I want a horn that _WILL break windows!!! any suggestions??
Howard Horns (don't have the website, but a quick search should do it).
They are air air horns that come in 3 sizes and even the smallest, single horn really does the job. They are USA made and very high quality and easy to install. I had a guy pull out in front of me just yesteray and the horn really got his attention.
I ordered the Howard Dynamic Duo air horn. Dealer did not tell me that it does not fit an Ultra with lowers in place. I modified the mount and got the baby on. It is massive and will shatter windows. Really loud. If you have lowers you might want to order the next smaller size. I like the lower sound. Sounds like a train. Good luck. Jeff
I use Rivco horns myself. I have had them on the bike for three seasons now and they are reliable and loud. There are a number of others that are on the market now. Rivcos are air horns that use a compressor. I also tried wolo horns and howard horns. Neither lasted very long with the vibrations on my engine. But the Rivcos do.
There are also a bunch of very loud non air horns. If my rivcos ever quit I will try one of them.
Ihad those dual chrome air horns (180.00 installed at a MC event) that mount where the stock horn is. Even fit nicely next to the lowers. But in less than a year I went thru 2 compressors and their a pain in the but to clean where the elements get inside the trumpet opening.(even with their covers on)Let alone their plastic. I ride 1992 flhtp police special. Ive a custom 2 up seat instead of the cop solo air cop seat. Under the seat there's an enough room to mountthe new set and compressor. Which by the way I purchased at Harbor Freight and they were 34 dollars and 135DBL's. They'll remove the paint off cars when I blast em!. I'm thinking that back in the days when they came out with the 1st automobiles. They always, too this day have the horns facing forward. The horns I got, theres no need to show them nor have them out and pointed towards the front.
