Why are my Bub's bluing?

Color is affected by the amount of heat, exhaust gas temps drop significantly with enrichment, (that's why people claim their bike feels so much cooler after a "proper" tune), lower temps will cause the gold color. The closer you get to stock, stoich or EPA compliance, the hotter the EGTs and the metal gets closer to critical temp and transitions to blue. Heat a piece of metal up very slowly increasing temp, it will turn gold before it turns blue.

No one else has brought this up...but BUB have always seemed to have a problem with bluing after a while. The map/tune can play a big part in how soon that happens, and while FuelMoto and others do a decent job of getting you a canned map, it's not a map that was done on YOUR bike. Get a well respected tuner to retune it, clean the pipes as suggested and enjoy the difference a great tune versus one that is "close" give ya!
