Default New Street Glide Getting HOT

I have a 2012 Street Glide and it seems to get hot really quick compared to my old Harley. It is completely stock except some 4 inch jackpot exhaust with the stock header pipe. My question is if I take out the cataletic converter in the stock pipe will it sound better and will it stay cooler longer?

yes it will remove the heat u feel on your leg and it'll make the bike a little louder/deeper sounding

Yes it will help with the heat and give you a little more rumble. Did this on my 11 RKC.

Will it help the motor run a little cooler?

Not sure about that one. I would say so since some of the CAT heat could be tansferred back to the motor. If you haven't already done so a good synthetic oil like Mobil 1 will help a little with the heat also.

07 and later Touring bikes are set to run very lean, which means very hot. There are a number of ways to make them run richer and cooler. Proceed with caution since some of the methods could void your warranty. I like the XIED approach. If you need to send your bike into the shop, you can disconnect the XIED's in less than 15 minutes.

I took the Cat out of mine, not sure I can tell the difference in the heat factor.

Hello Everyone, so how do you take out the catalytic converter? Is there a thread that has pic's or video on how to do this? Sorry for the dumb question(s) but hey this is my first post...
Thanks.

edit - FWIW I have 4" Rinehart slip on's. Everything else is stock

There are several videos on the web on removing the CAT from the stock pipe. It is NOT an easy job. Even with the CAT out it still doesn't flow like a aftermarket 2-1-2.

That may be true, but it's a whole lot cheaper.
