I went w/ Fairing Factory, HD knockoff versions. $150. I invested a good amount of block sanding to prep before I painted them. I'm satisfied with form & fit. Many people say they don't like the "lip" but, I get complimented on their appearance regularly. I think the lip follows the "lines" of the bike and compliments its flow. I made my decision based on how they look on factory stock '09 CVO models, their affordability and my ability to prep, paint & install them myself.

I think it'd be nicer if they were straight across, but that's just me. Can't wait to see em!

They do offer them in raw alliminum to be painted, they just dont have the cut outs for 279$ Im getting mine in a few weeks from them for my 09 ultra. He promises that they are a dirrect paint match in vivid black to my 09!I just cant decide if i want the 3 chrome stripes on the sides or just go with the solid black! I dont like the chrome ones, just kinda looks like a cheap add on! might be allright if your into the chrome crap, but im swinging for the solid black ones. Also Ive noticed with everything all black and the rails just above the seam you dont really notice were they connect that much! There site has lots of pics and I dont want to **** around with the headache of a new set of bags and havin them painted. These will fit the bill just for ''What i Want'' Also I talked to them and he said use 2 people to help on instal pushing in all the way around to mark before you drill that way no big gaps as these are somewhat bendable being alluminum. Cant wait!!

Would someone who has a set of these extensions handy please measure the thickness of the aluminum where it overlaps the bag. I'm curious if they are thinner or thicker than the original harley or the fairing factory ones. Are they .06, .09, .125? An accurate measurement please, not an "about" may be helpful to many thinking of this as an alternative to stretched bags. Thanks!
