He is going to sandblast the chrome off and paint them sedona orange for me. In fact he started on them today, so within 10 days or so (after paint cure) I will have them.
if any of the flames on the side are covered, I'll have Dan Kite touch them up at Sturgis, but I may get lucky.
here are some pics on them from his site:
I hope they will look okay.
When they come in, I'll post pics and detail the install.

WOW 350 for a set of extensions that will show a seem. For that money you could have bought a cheap set of stretched bags. Or bought a real nice set for another 500
yeah....I went this route, becasue they match the fender.....and I really like my factory ABS bags.
I don't do "cheap ****".
Appreciate the positive vibe though...

But why would you pay extra for chrome??? why not just buy the plastic ones? And if you don't do cheap ****, why did you go this route? You could have got a set of fiberglass Top shops for 850. Please post pictures after. Maybe they will look nice. Just having trouble picturing it looking right
Yep...the extended harley bags don't come down much at all except at the end....and aftermarket bags are either cheaply built, or won't work with the factory fender.....so I got these, as they fit real snug, look good, and just need to be color matched, which I am doing.
I like my factory bags, just want the extra length on the sides and back.

The aftermarket bags...the exhasut cutouts don't work with the stock fender....and I don't like fiberglass.....I like the ABS bag. Fiberglass is for corvettes and boats.
You have to understand....I don't follow the herd. They are already sandblasted and are going into the paint booth tomorrow.
the chrome is gone hoss.....sandblasted off. The plastic ones don't hang down as far.

the guy I bought them from on eBay is a custom painter, and has the harley paint codes, etc. He gave me a good deal, so I went with him (fingers crossed).

Weren't all the older Harley hard bags fiberglass? But like you said you don't follow the heard and its your bike. So that's all that matters. I got many comments about me not painting my nacell on my road glide. And of course the color I painted is not a popular Harley color. But its mine and I love it. Good luck
