I had them order the 8.5" KW. The mechanic that was checking their Demo KW Sheilds measured from the top of the bolt hole to the top of the sheild to get the size.

I have been all over the web searching for a fitting guide as to where the sheild should come up on you when your sitting on the bike. I could find nothing on the KW or that style of sheild. Based on my riding with the 6.5" KW I think the 8.5" should be perfect for me. The 6.5" KW was at about my top lip looking straight ahead.

Hmm the 6.5" sounds about right in size for you. Here is the LRS measuring method.

Is that measurement a parallel one?? As did you come out from the inner fairing to where the edge of the shield would drop straight down???
The measurement was from the top center of the windshield straight down to the center inner edge of the fairing.

The width of the top edge of the windshield is the same as the mounting area in the fairing.

Default 8-1/2" Klock Werks height

Right at 8", based upon you measurement request, on the 8-1/2" Klock.

I am 6'1", ride a 2009 EG Standard. The stock seat puts me further back that a stock EG Classic seat by about 1-1/2" or so plus a tad lower, 1/2" or less.

The wind goes over my helmet by a half of a hand width or so. Neither glasses or helmet buffet. I do have fairing lowers which reduce the buffeting as well.

I can see over the Klock which is important to me as I do not like looking through a windshield.

I mention the seat position as the further back or forward one is the Klock effect changes. Just another variable.

I have over 22,000 miles with them, Texas to Montana, etc, multiple times.

The Klock provides a few additional benefits as well. Downforce on the front end versus lift with the standard Harley shield. Also, rain and bugs, for the most part, go over my head due to the air stream flow created by the Klock profile.

Very satisfied, not affiliated. In fact, my first on developed a stress crack at one of the outer bolt mounting holes. They replaced it for NC and covered the shipping on the new one and the return of the old one.

My suggestion is to call Klock, ask their advice on sizing based upon your bike and your size. It worked for me, they gave me the right information.

Good luck.

Just measured. The very top of the 6.5" KW shield sits almost exactly 6" from the top of the flat spot on the inner fairing dashboard. I used a small T-square to measure it, sat it flat on that spot, close to the center, and measured up.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the measurements everyone. Sounds like the two shorter versions are 1/2" lower in line of sight.

Anyone have the measurement for a 7" Windsplitter???

I used to have a 7" windsplitter on my bike and when I rough measured it once it only stood around 5.5" total above the top of the front fairing. I am a short guy, 5'6" and it was a bit too short for me as I got a lot of wind on my forehead. It was useable, but I wanted more coverage. Later went with the 8.5" Klockwerks which did great with the wind, but was just too tall. I now have a 7" Fastaire flip up and it is perfect in every way for me.
