Congrats on the new King! I gotta tell ya, I bought a Fat Boy 11 years ago and quickly realized it wasn't suited to what I wanted to do. I took advantage of some great financing at the time to purchase an '02 RK 9 months after the Fat Boy purchase. I LOVE that bike. I was swayed recently into purchasing a new ('12) SG. While I don't have that many miles on it yet, I would hands down say my RK is much more comfortable and enjoyable to ride from the moment I rode it off the lot. I'm working on getting the SG where I want it, but from day 1 that RK was a godsend.

FYI . . . best mod for comfort for me? 12" Apes (I'm 5'6"). I stuck some Kerker slip-on's on it along with an SE Breather and it has been trouble free for a solid 10 years. The Kerker's are loud enough to be noticed, but quiet enough while cruising the highway that I can talk with my passenger without too much difficulty. After trying a Corbin, and a Mustang, I've had the stock seat for 10+ years, and more than a few 1,000+ non-stop miles (Iron Butt's).

Enjoy the ride . . . . love the color!

Congrats on the new bike. I talked to the HD Dealer here in FL and he said the flash for the ECM would cost $159 plus $85 labor. Think I'll leave it alone for a while.

You can check my sig for specifics on my stage 1 mods. I first put on V&H slip-ons without touching intake/ECM mapping. Bike performed basically the same as stock, but I did this 1st step to get rid of the factory ulta-quiet potato-potato. I read a lot on this forum before pulling the trigger on the Power Vision, a new head pipe, and air cleaner.

I am pleased with the PV and map from Fuel-Moto, but still need to do some minor tweaking. Haven't pinged Jamie at FM yet, but will likely do so after I gather some logged data. I'm dweeb-light when it comes to computer-based tuning, but the PV affords the option to make all kinds of adjustments. I've also seen that Jamie is very responsive to providing revised maps based on customer-specific feedback, and I intend to put that to the test once I get around to capturing some empirical data.

Congrats on the new RK. Very nice. I did a lot of searching here , You Tube, and other sources for my Stage 1 upgrage. I wanted to save and felt that I could do this myself.
So, I went with the V&H Monster rounds, power duals and Fuel Moto A/C + PV from Jaime. Very happy with his customer service. The easiest part in all this was the flash.

thanks for all the good info and the congrats! I'll call Jamie on Monday. Moving from a 1996 to a 2012 was a giant leap in handling and power. I'll post when I get done with stage 1.

Congrats on a kick *** ride. I've got the 2012 RKC...amazing ride! One thought..I've heard that having a Dyno tune prior to fully breaking in the engine is a waist of $. I have the v&h fuel pack, but once broken in, I'm considering switching to the SE tuner then doing the Dyno tune.

well, Power Vision, FM airbox, and now 4" Jackpots! couldn't be happier! well maybe without that neutral noise when hot! here's a couple recent pics including the Memphis Shades batwing, courtesy of my 1996 RK.
