A buddy of mine recently put a 120r in his 2011 R.K
He has not spared one dime in this build, doing everything right.
It has been finished for a month or two and he has about 1500 miles on it, and went for the dyno.
When I see him I say, hey how did it go. He puts both his thumbs down and says. 111 H.P 119 FT.LB
Now I must say from all the reading I have been doing on that motor, thats some weak SH*T!!!!!
He called Harley and they basically told him, yep that's it, he called the dealer and they said the same thing!
Really come on all the 120r builds I am seeing are 130H.P-130FT.LB GIVE OR TAKE!
Would love to hear some input on this, but I also can't wait to spank his *** with a built 103!!!!!!!!! LOL LOL
There are many details which you have left out. The two main things are the exhaust that was used, and who did the tune? Either one of those things not chosen properly can kill any build, especially one on a 120R, both of those chosen poorly could really kill it too. Also what A/C, etc....
Does your buddy have the Yaffee 2-1 by any chance?
Like the others had said, what other components did he use? My 120R crate goes on the dyno this Tuesday and I'll be very disappointed if I don't see a minimum 125/130 w/the set-up that is in my sig.
I agree with all the other post, I don't blame the engine, seems the problem is with the parts, ( cam, A/C, exhaust), or the person that tuned it, there is no way I would settle for that with a 120R.
Mine makes 139.92 hp and 133.7 tq, doesn't seem weak to me. Like the others said, without more information it is impossible to diagnose. Could be the choice of components / tuner / dyno technician skewed the results?
